Our volunteers, who join us from near and far, play a crucial role in helping us achieve our vision for a better future. They generously take time off work, contribute resources, and bring invaluable support to tackle the ongoing challenges our communities face. Without their dedication, our impact would not be as significant as it is today.
On behalf of the Michael Westley Foundation, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to every individual who has contributed. Your support is deeply appreciated, and we are honored to have you on our team. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or donor, please email us. Your generous donation will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goals. Michael Westley was a 15-year-old boy whose life was taken by Chicago police on June 16, 2013, Two weeks before his 16th birthday. The Chicago police department is known over decades for its corruption, sweeping things under the rug and covering things up to make them look justified. Unfortunately, Michael Westley and many other young black and brown, men and women who were murdered by police had to suffer through this corruption and coverup. When will justice prevail? Michael‘s mother, Chantell Brooks was screwed over in the civil lawsuit against the police, no charges were brought on any of the officers, and no true answers to why she was left with a deceased 15-year-old son. Where is the Justice, Where is the Peace? Miss Brooks started this foundation in 2018 pre-covid and obtained her documents to go public in 2022. She’s hosting fundraisers, Auctions, Raffles, Giveaways, Events and more. She’s raising funds to open a youth center for children in the community, Where we will provide Mental health resources, financial literacy, STEM programs, How to conqueror challenges, Counseling and Therapy, Food and shelter and so much more. It takes a village and when we all come together, We can make a better tomorrow.
It is to END Police brutality in all forms, and change laws that prohibit them from killing or doing any bodily harm to a civilian/Human being. End racial profiling, End mass incarceration, End this food crisis, and shelter crisis and this is just a small list of things that need our attention and major support. There’s so much that needs to be done and our staff and volunteers come in handy because we can appoint certain tasks to certain people which lightens the load. Bringing awareness and gaining support is a must and The Michael Westley Foundation's focus is on the advancement of our communities and giving people a chance to live a better life. Bringing more activities with things to do and learn for our youth, will not only empower them but will also keep them out of trouble. Let us come together and help solve these problems, All the support is needed and appreciated. We will keep everyone updated on the youth center Miss Brooks finds and all updates from The Michael Westley Foundation. Thank you
